Dear McKinley School Community,

We received news from SDUSD updating our masking guidelines for staff and students. Masks are now OPTIONAL for staff and students on campus while outdoors. Outdoor time is:

  • Recess
  • Lunch
  • Arrival/Dismissal
  • Outdoor PE (Physical Education)

Masks are STILL REQUIRED for all staff and students regardless of vaccination status while in all indoor spaces including the school bus. We will be messaging this to our students but are asking for your help and support in the following ways:

  • Go over the new guidelines with your child or children.
  • Send your child to school with extra masks (if possible)- we anticipate many will be lost with them coming on and off.
  • Decide as a family if you want your child to wear their masks outdoors as that remains optional for families. Regardless of your choice, please help your child be respectful of others’ decisions.

As always we are committed to staying in communication with you as guidelines change.
