The McKinley Spring Gala & Auction (“Gala”) is the last fundraiser of the year! The Gala is usually an event where adults gather and have a fun night out [without kids] while raising funds to support the required IB programs at McKinley. Last year, the Gala went completely virtual and raised over $15,000! This year the committee planned a hybrid event (outdoor activity & online auction).
The funds raised from this event are used to fund the required IB programs such as Spanish, art, and dance. It also supports the teachers, the school, and provides the means to carry out other events that make long lasting memories for students like McKinley’s Theatre, Variety Show, and Running Club to name a few.
The outdoor activity is a walking game using the CluedUpp mobile app to solve a mystery. The activity is perfect for adults and families and is COVID-safe. The cost is $50 per team of 4 adults (kids are free). Ticket sales and the online auction open on May 1st, but you can preview the items now. Auction Items & Donations
In the past, auction items were compiled from class projects, teacher features and contributions from neighborhood small businesses, such as restaurants, salons, museums, etc. However, in recognition of the continued burden the pandemic has imposed on the business community, and the ongoing challenge to coordinate group projects, we kindly ask our general community to consider contributing items for the 2021 event.

Auction Items can take many forms. If you think you have something to offer but aren’t sure, contact the Gala Committee before you submit a donation in the form.
We promote auction items on the Gala Social Media pages to garner interest & spotlight generous contributors. It’s an opportunity to get an inside look at what will be available at the auction.
