The Spring Gala is the last fundraiser of the year. It is an adults only (21+) event filled with music, dancing, drinks, food and silent & live auctions. The event is open to McKinley parents, staff and supporters. It’s an opportunity to have a night out with friends while raising money for McKinley.
The funds raised at the event are used to fund the required IB programs such as Spanish, art, and dance, in addition to supporting the teachers and the school and providing the means to carry out other events that make long lasting memories for students like McKinley’s Theatre, Variety Show, and Running Club to name a few.

Saturday, April 18, 2020, 6:00-10:00 pm.
Queen Bee’s Art and Cultural Center
3925 Ohio Street, San Diego, CA 92104 – right in the heart of North Park!
Ticket includes entrance, entertainment, food and drinks. The Ticket Form will close at noon (12PM) on Friday, April 17th but tickets to the event may be purchased at the door.

Childcare for children ages 5-12 will be available at a cost of $10/child and must be pre-purchased through the Ticket Form. Check-in begins at 5:30 PM and last pick up is 10:30PM. Check-In and Check-out will be conducted at the Office. Please bring identification.
Pizza and water will be provided. Children should be dressed comfortably and may bring a favorite game to play, blanket and/or pillow if they wish.
Childcare must be purchased by Friday, April 17th at noon (12PM) via the Ticket Form to participate. Childcare will NOT be available for purchase at the door.
Auction Items can take many forms. The Gala Committee appeals to the business community for donations of products or services that would interest potential bidders. The Committee requests Teachers & Staff for contributions of their time as well as Class Projects from parents. Other types of items include big ticket items and Count Me In Experiences (CMI). Contributions are always welcome whether they are items for the auction or financial contributions to underwrite the event. All donations are appreciated.

We promote items that will be part of the auction on our Facebook and Instagram pages so that we can spotlight our generous contributors. It’s an opportunity to see who is supporting McKinley and get an inside look at what will be available at the event. We also post about the fun things we are doing to plan the event to engage our followers. Click on your preferred social media page to start following our progress.
Special Note: while we cross post to both Facebook and Instagram an online silent auction will take place two weeks before the event via the Facebook page only.
This event, like all things McKinley, is volunteer led. Please look over the sign-up and lend a hand where you can. Everyone is welcome to help set-up on the day of the event even if you are not able to attend.
