2022-2023 Kinder & New Student Registration Begins
April 11 – June 3, 2022

2022-2023 Kinder/New Student Packets will be available for families to pick up at the front foyer rounder along with an attached Checklist for the 2022-2023 Enrollment.

Step 1 – Verify Your Child is Eligible to Attend McKinley

  • Does your child(ren) live in our attendance area? Check SDUSD School Finder.
  • If your child(ren) do not live within the McKinley boundary, registration will need to be completed with the school listed on School Finder
  • Kindergarten children must turn 5 years old by or on September 1, 2022 to be eligible.

Step 2 – Gather the Following Documents

  • Birth certificate or passport
  • We MUST have all current immunizations as required by CA State Law. All shots need to be verified or your child(ren) CANNOT attend school

  • Proof of residence in the name of the parent/guardian
  • Two different monthly bills or combination of the following:
    • SDG&E/Phone/Cable/Water Bills (One of Each) – Current Month
  • Rental Agreement & Utility Bill – Current Month
  • If applicable, a copy of your child’s IEP or 504 Plan.
  • New Students From the District/Out of District/Out of State/Country – Provide Transcript/Current Report Card From School Attended (not needed for new Kinders)

Once you have all the documents needed from the Checklist, you can stop by the office to have the packet reviewed by office staff  and have health staff review all immunization records.

Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) Pre-Enrollment Window

May 2 – May 20

McKinley Will Not Be Registering UTK In Person

Only 24 UTK Seats will be Available at mckinley

The online Pre-Enrollment Form will be added here on May 2, 2022.

For families pre-enrolling for UTK, pre-enrollment will be online via InfoSnap and required documents will be uploaded, as well as verifying that child(ren) live within the McKinley school boundary.

  • UTK will be available to children turning 4 years old by September 1, 2022

Step 2 – Once pre-enrollment is available, gather and scan the following documents

  • Birth certificate or passport
  • We MUST have all current immunizations as required by CA State Law. All shots need to be verified or your child(ren) CANNOT attend school
  • Proof of residence in the name of the parent/guardian.
  • Two different, monthly bills or combination of the following:
    • SDG&E/Phone/Cable/Water Bills (One of Each) – Current Month
  • Rental Agreement & Utility Bill – Current Month
  • If applicable, a copy of your child’s IEP or 504 Plan.

Once the 24 UTK seats are at capacity and there are overflow pre-enrolled students, parents will be offered enrollment at the next closest site with space available. This process will be managed centrally by the NSEO office.
