September is Hunger Awareness Month in San Diego County. Right now, tens of thousands of local families are experiencing hunger and food insecurity. To care for our neighbors in need, McKinley families are invited to donate non-perishable food items that will be collected and distributed by the San Diego Food Bank.
A collection bin will be set up at the front entrance of McKinley (inside the double doors near the office) from Monday September 12 through Friday September 30th. Please drop off your donations anytime during school hours.
Most-needed items are peanut butter, pasta, rice, cereal and canned meats, vegetables, fruits, and beans. Please no glass jars or homemade food products.
Thank you for doing your part to help our neighbors in need.
