Drumroll, please!! The final tally for funds raised from SoNo Fest & Chili Cook-Off 2021 is $85,716.49!! That’s a 38% increase over 2019!

Big thanks to the generous contributions of all the chili makers, bowl spinners, breweries, our super rad sponsors, talented bands, vendors, food trucks, and everyone who came out and chowed down on chili, drank beer, shopped, ate, and celebrated SoNo Fest!! 🍻🥣🌶🎸

Please be sure to patronize the businesses that supported SoNo Fest! You can find all of them listed on the SoNo Fest website. We rely on their generosity year after year and are proud to be in partnership with them.

We were able to raise over $85k for the creative learning programs offered to every student at McKinley Elementary School. Everyone’s participation in SoNo Fest is so vital to give our kids the arts, music, gardening, Spanish, dance, ceramics, and more classes they would otherwise not receive.

HUGE shout-out to this year’s McKinley Parent (and alumni parents!) Planning Committee! None of this would be possible without their tireless dedication to throw this huge event to raise needed funds for your students. This was Brijet Myers’ last year as chairperson, and she is ecstatic to hand over the reins to Traci Stender, Katy Strand, and Alex Oat who have stepped in to chair SoNo Fest 2022, happening on Sunday, December 4th!

This event could not take place without the almost 200 volunteers who step up to set up, pour beer, serve chili, clean up, etc. THANK YOU to all of the McKinley families, teachers, and staff who volunteered this year!

If you participated in SoNo 2021 in any way, give yourself a big pat on the back! And now let’s get started on 2022! 😅 Please consider joining the planning committee for the 2022 event. There are jobs for everyone of every skill level and availability. Stay tuned for more info about how to get involved in the 2022 event!
