Hello artists and McKinley families!

You are cordially invited to the Grand Opening of the McKinley Museum of Art Online! The McKinley Museum of Art displays the work from the 2019-2020 McKinley Art Program taught by Ms. Smith. Due to current events, we were unfortunately unable to host an in-person art show this year. Most of your art was sent home with you this week by your classroom teacher. (If you are missing a piece of art, it is most likely hanging up in the main office and it can be returned to you next year, or it is one of our group projects that will be on display on-campus when we return to in-person school. View the works on display in the main office here.)

Please enjoy this peek into the art room and a selection of the amazing art that was created in the McKinley Art Studio this year!

And don’t forget to check out the special gallery of our school wide project, The Quilts of McKinley Elementary, inspired by the artists and quilt-makers of Gee’s Bend, Alabama:

I am so proud of each and every one of you for giving your all, trying new things, and opening yourselves up to creating beautiful artistic expressions. We learned about other cultures, unique approaches to making art, and that anyone can be an artist. I wish we could have spent more time making art in the classroom before the year was over, but I am so happy that we were able to accomplish so much even with a shortened schedule. It was a great year of making art at McKinley!

Congratulations and have an awesome summer!

Sincerely,
Ms. Smith
