McKinley 2020-21 Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten and New Students Grades 1-5 Registration Is Now Open!
- Your child is eligible for TK if their 5th birthday occurs between September 2, 2020 through December 2, 2020.
- Your child is eligible for Kindergarten if their 5th birthday is on or before September 1, 2020.
Before you submit all the paperwork please make sure you complete these two steps:
- Verify McKinley Is Your Neighborhood School: First, it is important to verify that you live in our McKinley School Boundary. Just go to the School Finder Enter your home address of where your child resides with you all the time/the majority of the time.You will need to register at your neighborhood school if you do not reside in our school boundary.
- Current Immunization Records: The next step is to ensure that you have all of your required shot records per the state of California and San Diego Unified School District can review the District Immunization List and Requirements.
Once you verified that McKinley is your neighborhood school and have all the up to date immunizations, follow the McKinley Registration Check List below and gather all of your required documents to get started:
- Proof of Address: May Proof of Residence – Monthly Utility/Phone Bill in name of parent/guardian
- Birth Certificate / Passport (of a child)
- Immunization Records (All Current)
- IEP/504 Plan (Most Current)
- Grades 1 – 5 Transcripts/last report card/other previous school documents
- Any legal documentation/custody

Registration Documentation Review:
Monday – Thursday, until Thursday, May 28th 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Office staff will review all of your documentation in the order your email was received. Office staff will email you to confirm that your child has been officially enrolled for the 2020-21 school year.
