McKinley Families,
Halloween falls on a school day this year. Our costume policy is the same as in years past. If a child chooses to dress up, the costume cannot distract from learning. That includes, no weapons, no masks, and please ensure that they wear safe shoes.
On Tuesday morning, we’ll have all classes remain outside for a Halloween Parade. Parents are welcome to join us.
Halloween parties are determined by each classroom teacher and are held the last 30 minutes of the school day (2:30 – 3:00 pm). If your child’s class is having a party, you will be notified by your child’s teacher or the homeroom parent.
Please note: we can no longer have any homemade goods at any school functions. (It’s not a policy; it’s a law. I’ll miss that Kinder Thanksgiving feast. Sigh.)
One last thing – no candy cannot be brought to school after Halloween. (No candy coming to school has its upside. It DOES provide parents with an opportunity to snag a few goodies from their kid’s collection. Not that I’m condoning this kind of behavior, of course.)
Thank you,
Mrs. Ganderton
