Our 5th graders are getting ready for their Exhibition action projects, and they need adult mentors to help guide small groups as they research, plan and put their ideas into action. No prior experience is needed.
How mentors help
- Brainstorming action ideas
- Helping students set up interviews with experts
- Scheduling and organizing action steps
- Assisting with research and fact-checking
- Providing feedback and encouragement
When
Mentors meet with students once during each project week: Dec 7-11, Feb 8-12, April 5-9 and May 10-14. We are looking for mentors who are available on Monday or Tuesday from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m.
Mentors need Volunteer Clearance B (Level D preferred).
The 5th Grade Exhibition will be showcased during McKinley’s Open House, so the whole school community will get to see the impact of their work.
