If you’ve been on campus recently, you might have seen the beautiful Wiggle Walkway that was completed earlier this year as our final Jog-A-Thon Prize. This walkway is located by the portables starting at Ms. Tennies classroom and extends down towards Mr. Ghahary’s classroom. The idea behind the walkway was to provide a sensory and motor outlet for kids to get their wiggles out. It incorporates elements of balance, coordination, spatial awareness, and cognitive skills as well as highlights local flora and fauna that the kids have learned about during Garden class.
This project was a huge collaboration between parents, teachers, Beautification Committee, Garden class, FOUND committee, the Foundation, and McKinley Adminstration.

Special thanks to SarahLynn Zavoral who came up with the idea and spearheaded the original brainstorming of themes, ideas, and layout. Thank you to the Beautification Committee and Ms. Marney for allowing kids and parents to chalk out their ideas during Green Day, so kids could experience the walkway and offer input. Finally, our gratitude to Ms. Barbara Smith who was able to transform all of the ideas and themes into the beautiful final product. Your artistic skills have no bounds! Ask your child if they’ve had an opportunity to check it out and experience the walkway!
