Jog-A-Thon is one of McKinley’s biggest fundraising events that raises funds for our IB Program and WHEEL classes such as Art, Ceramics, Dance, Garden, and Spanish. These programs are not funded by the district and are completely funded by fundraising events such as Jog-A-Thon.

We are excited to announce that this year, Jog-A-Thon will take place in-person on Thursday, October 26th, 2023.

All students will be receiving a FREE Jog-A-Thon t-shirt! In the past, students had to purchase them or earn them by raising a certain amount of money. We feel strongly that all students should have a free t-shirt to wear to the event to show their McKinley spirit and foster a sense of community.

Next week (week of September 11), students will be participating in a t-shirt design contest where the winning design will be printed on all the Jog-A-Thon t-shirts. The t-shirt contest is great fun and participation is voluntary. Drawings are done during class hours and must be done completely by the student. Parents and teachers may not help with this project.

Each class will vote for one winning picture to be submitted for their class. After the top designs across the school are selected, students will then get to vote on the final winning design — every vote counts! Below is the winning design from last year.

This year, we have chosen to highlight the school’s instructional focus of Equity, Belonging and Thriving as the theme. The design should emphasize the goal of ensuring that ALL students thrive at McKinley.

Families: Don’t worry, there is nothing you need to do or bring for this design contest. However, this could be an opportunity to spark a conversation about the theme with your child.

More information about Jog-A-Thon will be coming soon! In the meantime, if you have any questions you can email the Jog-A-Thon Committee at jogathonmckinley@gmail.com.
