Join us at this year’s Book Fair, taking place May 22-25 in the McKinley Library. Look out for a Scholastic flyer and more info coming home with your student.
Students can visit the Book Fair during class time, and once that week during morning recess. Families can check out the Book Fair as well! We will be open for 30 minutes after school AND during the McKinley Open House on Thursday, May 25th. Stop by to also check out our Read-a-Thon thermometers and art inspired by our One Book, One McKinley selections.
NEXT STEPS:
- Check out the flyer coming home the week of May 15 and get your wish list going.
- Sign your child up with an eWallet in order to easily buy the books on their wishlist.
- Donate if you are able to the McKinley school-wide eWallet. The donations help fund books for EVERY student.
Each student will also receive a book ticket: a ticket good for one book at our Book Fair! Also look out for a $5 off coupon from The Book Catapult and lots of other free goodies as well, all available at the Book Fair.
How does McKinley benefit from the Book Fair? Great question! Purchases made from families contribute to credits that the school gets back in “Scholastic Bucks.” This typically results in 50% of purchases coming back to the school, providing books for the library and classrooms. Some of that money also goes to providing each and every student with a book to take home. We think that’s pretty awesome!
Check out our Scholastic page for more info. We can’t wait to see you at the Book Fair. Read on McKinley!
