We can’t believe the big day is almost here! Here is some important info for the day of the event on Thursday, October 27th.

Please send your child with the following so they are ready for Jog-A-Thon:

  • Jog-A-Thon T-shirt (will be distributed the week of Oct 24 at the discretion of each classroom teacher)
  • Comfortable running shoes
  • Water bottles (extra water and refills will be available)
  • Class accessory coordinated by room parents (most likely distributed on day of event)

Schedule for all grade levels:

Grade TK: 8:45am – 9:00am (15 mins)
Grades K & 1st: 9:15 am – 9:35 am (20 mins)
Grades 2nd & 3rd: 9:50 am – 10:15 am (25 mins)
Grades 4th & 5th: 10:30 am – 11:00 am (30 mins)

Spectators:

  • Parents/family members are welcome as spectators during their child’s race!
  • The Joint Use Park (JUP) gate on Palm Street will be open and parents/family members should enter through there.
  • There is no need for spectators to check in through the front office (in fact, we are trying to minimize the amount of traffic going through the front office). Spectators do NOT need to be registered as volunteers. They are NOT allowed in the classroom or on the school campus during the event.
  • After each heat is over we are encouraging classes to come off the track and towards the blacktop and red playground to make room for the next heat. If you’d like to congratulate your student, please do so off the field so we can ensure a smooth transition to the next group.

(If a parent has volunteered to be a lap tracker for a class, they WILL need to sign into the office before they enter the classroom and they ARE permitted to be in the classroom and on campus during the event.)

Volunteers:

  • If you have volunteered to be a lap tracker, please check into the office and proceed to your child’s classroom 20 min prior to their start time. Please don’t be late!
  • If you have volunteered for any other position, please enter through the JUP gate on Palm Street and look for your designated station or a JAT Committee member for directions. (We’ll be wearing JAT t-shirts!)

Fundraising Update:

We have raised $86,000 so far, which means we have earned a Dance Performance and New Percussion Instruments! It’s been so amazing seeing the kids take ownership of fundraising efforts this year from knocking door to door asking for donations, bake sales at soccer games, and garage sales! We’re so proud of your initiation and creative ideas for fundraising for the school.
