In Spring 2019, McKinley Kids raised a record-breaking total of $7,149.61 for the LLS “Pennies for Patients” annual charity fundraiser.
“Pennies for Patients” is a science-based, service-learning program that encourages student-led involvement in charitable activity. McKinley Kids contribute to LLS research to find the cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and melanoma, and improve the quality of life for blood cancer patients and their families. We believe that the kids’ participation promotes the IB Learner Profile qualities, specifically Caring.
The LLS “Pennies for Patients” Campaign offers:
– A motivational and educational LLS Assembly for the kids.
– K-5 LLS STEM Curriculum especially created for each grade level.
Join the Hero Squad!! McKinley PTC is looking for a few enthusiastic and generous-hearted McKinley Volunteers to form a small team to lead our next “Pennies for Patients” effort Feb 24-Mar 6, 2020.
