For one hour, one day a week for four consecutive weeks, parents will learn tools that will enable them to foster non-cognitive skills that science supports as tools for academic success. The GRIT/Growth Mindset class is taught by Dr. Susan Wais. Dr. Wais has a Masters in Family Therapy, a Masters in Positive Psychology and a PhD in Psychology. She has been teaching these workshops throughout San Diego for ten years. Studies show that learning to work hard is as important to academic success as intelligence. Research tells us that the non-cognitive skill of GRIT/Growth Mindset – passion and perseverance for long term goals – is just as important to achievement as is talent. For further information and to enroll in the class contact Dr. Susan Wais at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (619) 306-6193.
