Dear San Diego Unified Families,

As we watch the unfolding fires in our region, San Diego Unified would like to assure all families that the district is monitoring the situation closely and is prepared to respond to any potential fire threat to our schools. While fires are not impacting our schools at this time, district staff is in close contact with the Office of Emergency Services, San Diego Gas and Electric, and the County Emergency Operations Center. Parents and guardians will continue to get up-to-date information about their schools from principals. We will share any breaking information on our @sdschools twitter page.

We encourage all families to take extra precautions during this extreme weather event. Please stay clear of any downed trees or powerlines, report any issues to authorities; and if a fire ignites near you, closely follow the instructions provided by local emergency services.
