McKinley Theatre Company attracts so many talented young performers, and we love that the arts are thriving at McKinley! However, with such a large cast size, our priority is to give all participating performers the best experience possible, allowing them to learn, be safe and have fun. All parts will be auditioned for, including the ensemble/chorus. We look for enthusiasm, listening skills, maturity, stage presence, and respectfulness.
Please carefully fill out the Audition Registration Form! We prefer you complete and turn-in your registration form online. A limited number of registration forms are available in the school office.
Paper copy registration forms are due in the green PTC lockbox in the school office by Friday, Sep 22, 3:30pm.
Online Audition Registration Closes Friday, Sep 22, 11:59 PM. .
You will be contacted by email or text with your audition time by Sep 23, Saturday.
All auditions will take place Sep 25 after school, 3:30 to approximately 6pm.
There are 3 types of Auditions:
Ensemble: Students will sing “Neverland,” and “I’m Flying” in a small group, and then they will be dismissed. These students will be considered for chorus/singing roles only.
General: For students who are interested in any/all roles. Students will sing “Neverland” and “I’m Flying” in a small group, and then read/recite lines and/or sing a solo. You can choose any lines to read for any character! Memorization is great, but not required! These students will be considered for all roles, including leads, featured roles, and chorus parts.
Lead: For students who really want to be considered for a specific or a lead role. Students will sing “Neverland” or “I’m Flying” in a small group, and must also sing a solo and read lines. Memorization is great, but not required! These students will be considered for all roles, including leads, featured roles, and chorus/ensemble parts.
Have your student look over the roles and character descriptions, so you can accurately state their interest on the registration form, and find any corresponding lines and/or songs to audition with.
If your child changes their mind about what part they’d like to audition for, please let us know at the start of their audition.
Before you Register for an Audition, Please Note:
- We will consider all students for all roles, except those who mark “ensemble only.” The audition gives us a good feel for the skills and interest of the student.
- View the Production Calendar and be prepared to state any schedule conflicts.
- FAMILY PARTICIPATION / CONTRIBUTION IS MANDATORY. Look over the Volunteer Information and state your area of interest. We will sort out volunteer teams after the Cast List announcement. This show is entirely run by volunteers!
- If you have more than one student auditioning, please fill out a form for each. You will be emailed an audition time slot(s) after registration closes.
The Cast List will be announced by Sep 29. Parents/Guardians of Cast Members are asked to attend a meeting at the end of our first rehearsal on Oct 2 . Grades TK-3rd are more likely to be cast in ensemble numbers. Lead roles will most likely be cast from Grades 3-5.
Cast and Crew are expected to commit to scheduled rehearsals and performances. Once the Cast List is announced, all families will be presented with a variety of volunteer opportunities to contribute to the success of the show.
More information about Stage Crew coming soon.
