Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you received the letter sent home on April 10, 2015, with your child announcing my retirement at the end of this school year.  I look forward to a new chapter in my life, however, I will deeply miss your children, our community, and the many friends and relationships I have made during the last 14 years.  To help choose a principal that will be a good fit for McKinley, our Area Superintendent, Mitzi Merino, will hold a parent/community meeting on Monday, April 20th in the Auditorium from 2:40-3:40 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to get your input.  The staff will also have a meeting with Ms. Merino.  This process is designed to formulate specific criteria that meet the priorities of the McKinley Learning Community.  The school district hopes to complete the process prior to the end of the school year.  My last day will be June 30.  I will work closely with the staff and district to ensure there is a smooth transition for the 2015-16 school year!

Thank you,

Principal Julie Ashton-Gray

This meeting will be a chance for the parents to provide input into the criteria for our new principal.  What type of skills, knowledge, and/or experience are you looking for in our principal?  Bring your ideas to share with the school board.  We realize the meeting is during the day which may be tough for parents to attend.  If you can not attend and have specific criteria you would like to be included, please e-mail PTC President Betsey at bzby@cox.net.  She will be sure to give your input at the meeting.
