October — As the new school year starts, classes are busy planting in the garden. Here are some of the many things taking place this month.
April — Thank you to San Diego Rotary Club 33 for donating new tables and benches so classes can be conducted in the garden. See photos here.
March — Thank you to Home Depot for donating 3 work benches and hundreds of dollars worth of soil, compost, mulch, bark and lava rocks.
March — The Roots and Shoots Club made signs encouraging people to recycle. See photo here.
February — Mrs. Davis’ Kindergarten class grew snap peas. See photo here.
February — Ms. Phillip’s 5th grade class made use of new garden bags donated by Home Brews and Gardens. See photos here.
February — Mr. Rittko’s 1st grade class made pine cone peanut butter bird feeders. See photos here.
February — Trees bloom in the McKinley Orchard. See photos here.
JanuaryHome Depot donated mulch, soil amendments and soil to prepare for spring plantings. Thank you Home Depot!

2010:

December — Richard Kenyon’s 2nd grade class went out to the garden and wrote Haiku poems about what they saw in the garden. It was a perfect fit with their literacy unit that had a section on poetry. See poems and photos.
