We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Variety Show on Saturday, March 19 at 3:00 pm in the Joint Use Park at McKinley.

Students in grades K-5 are invited to perform, and all McKinley students, staff and parents are invited to attend the show.

As many of you know, the annual Variety Show has been an opportunity for McKinley students to showcase their talents and abilities for nearly 60 years. Traditionally, there has been a daytime performance for the student body on campus and an evening performance for the community at Lincoln High School Auditorium.

The pandemic has put this beloved school tradition on hold for two years. We are thrilled to provide this experience for our children again! However, we will need to approach this year’s show with many adjustments to keep things COVID-safe for everyone. This will include hosting the event outdoors, having minimal rehearsals, eliminating cost for admission, and not having the large group numbers with all performers.

Our theme for this year’s Variety Show is “WE RISE TOGETHER,” inspired from the school mural recently painted on campus. We hope this theme allows students and the school community to reflect on the challenges and triumphs that we have faced during these unique times, and to celebrate how our students have the power to uplift and inspire others.

If your child wishes to perform in the Variety Show, please review the Q&A page of information and follow the steps listed in that section to participate.

We are very excited to see what this unique Variety Show brings!

Sincerely,
The Variety Show Committee
