Something really special was created for the families at McKinley and everyone who helps put SoNo Fest and Chili Cook-Off together every year.

Dennis Stein, who owns the UPS Store on University & Bancroft and does great work for the North Park community, approached us last fall asking if he could document the SoNo Fest planning process. This video is a glimpse of the many, many, many people who make this event happen every year. He did an incredible job capturing so many pieces of the SoNo puzzle. Thank you Jean Rivaldi & Shari David for shining your light on SoNo for so many years, and McKinley is better because of your tireless hard work. What will we do without you next year!?

You can really see owner of San Diego Ceramic Connection Kouta Shimazaki’s passion for SoNo, and not everyone gets to see all the behind-the-scenes work he does still to this day, and how many people in his network – who don’t even have ties to McKinley – make SoNo happen.

McKinley families, please enjoy this little SoNo Fest documentary and we hope it inspires you to get involved for SoNo Fest 2020!! (Sunday, December 6th!)

Contact the SoNo Fest Team if you’d like to get involved or have questions.
