Most schools have a single point of entry and exit. At McKinley, we’ve struggled with traffic on Felton and, in an attempt to remedy that situation, we opened two more points of access to our campus.
This resulted in additional responsibilities for our teachers, which they willingly embraced. The drawback is that the teachers on duty have to ensure they are on time to pick up their students and escort them to class.
The entry point on Palm and the Kindergarten gate access on Felton are open from 8:10 – 8:22 am. (An odd time, but this allows teachers adequate time to pick up their students prior to the 8:25 bell.) If you are unable to arrive prior to 8:22, please use the gate by the Yoga Statue which closes at 8:30 each morning.
