All Schools on Regular Schedules Sept. 17
Upon a review of the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast for San Diego for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17, the district will be returning all schools to a normal schedule. Our criteria for determining the move to minimum day was based on a combination of forecasted temperatures of 95 or higher and a heat index of 103 or higher for those schools in the district which did not have 100% air conditioning in occupied classrooms. The NWS’ previous regional heat advisory has not been extended beyond 7 p.m. this evening.

Although temperatures will be lower tomorrow, it will still be hot. Schools will continue to follow their Hot Weather Plans. Information is posted at www.sandi.net/hotweather

It is important to note that while we are returning to a regular schedule across the district, nearly half of our schools have previously-scheduled minimum days for Wednesday. Those regularly scheduled minimums days will remain in effect. This also applies to schools that have regularly scheduled minimum days on Thursdays.

***During these hot, hot days, we encourage you to have your child bring water to school.  Children can leave their water bottles in the back of the classrooms or with their back packs but, they will have access to drinking water.  Be cool, drink water!***
