CicloSDias, San Diego’s first car-free open streets event, is coming to South Park August 11! McKinley families, come out and join the fun.
Modeled after similar events throughout Latin and North America, CicloSDias will close 5.2 miles of street – mostly along 30th street – to cars on Sunday August 11 between 10a.m. and 4p.m. Skaters, riders, bikers, walkers, people are invited to come experience this big block party on foot where there will be activities along the route, shops and restaurants open for business and neighbors and friends from all over coming together.
McKinley parents Jay Newlin and Kate Ferrier are organizing a family bike ride to begin at 10:30 a.m. August 11 at the corner of 30th and Landis. Families can join in the fun and bike the route together traveling south. Contact Kate for more information at ferriergirl@gmail.com.
Event organizers also need help in distributing flyers throughout the neighborhood. Check it out if you can help put flyers on even one or two streets around your home. T-shirts will be available for volunteers who can commit to or have completed at least two hours of volunteering. www.ciclosdias.org/get involved/ volunteer.
